The Emancipation Festival, presented by the African Cultural and Development Association (ACDA), is an annual celebration honoring the rich heritage, resilience, and cultural legacy of African descendants in Guyana. Held every August, the festival commemorates the abolition of slavery with vibrant displays of traditional African dress, music, dance, cuisine, storytelling, and historical reflection.
